What the petition asks
We, the people of the UK, demand an end to government hypocrisy. While citizens suffer cuts to essential services, MPs continue to enjoy taxpayer-funded perks. This must stop! MPs live in luxury while people struggle to afford basics. Their taxpayer-covered expenses for rent, mortgages, council tax,
MPs are living in a privileged bubble while ordinary people face economic hardship due to government cuts. It’s about fairness—if the public is expected to tighten their belts, MPs should lead by example instead of continuing to benefit from taxpayer-funded perks.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
