What the petition asks

The US and Russia have recently attempted to broker a sham ceasefire in Ukraine, without Ukraine present. This petition calls upon the UK Government to use all of its influence to ensure both Ukraine and the UK are represented at any future negotiating table - no talks about Ukraine without Ukraine!

Russia’s war on Ukraine has caused untold suffering and the Russian military committing thousands of war crimes, with deliberate attacks on civilians, prisoners of war, residential areas, medical facilities and the energy infrastructure. We call on the UK Government to act swiftly and decisively to ensure that a just peace is achieved, with Ukraine at the heart of any future peace negotiations.

Why it was rejected

We cannot accept this petition that calls for an action that is already happening, or that is unclear.

The Prime Minister has stated that any lasting peace must guarantee the sovereignty and security of Ukraine, and that Ukraine must be at the table when negotiating their future.
