What the petition asks
Recognise Biomedical Scientists as a shortage occupation and adjust immigration rules. Add them to the immigration salary list to lower salary thresholds for visa extensions.
We think Biomedical Scientists are essential for diagnosing diseases, including cancer and infections. The NHS faces a severe shortage, yet we think current immigration rules force many to leave due to salary thresholds. We think losing these professionals worsens diagnostic delays and strains healthcare services. Therefore retaining them could be crucial for patient care and NHS sustainability
