What the petition asks
We want the Government to embed breath work and emotional wellbeing into the national curriculum to address the rising mental health crisis among children and young people. Some studies show breath work is a cost-effective intervention that improves children's emotional and mental health.
1 in 5 young people in the England have a probable mental health disorder (NHS England, 2023). We want to:
Ensure all students receive structured, evidence-based education on managing stress and emotions.
Integrate simple, science-backed breathing practices into the school day to support focus, self-regulation, and emotional wellbeing.
Provide educators with resources to support student mental health effectively.
