Fund campaign and incentives to prioritise British food and reduce food miles

Closed 75 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the Government to encourage supermarkets to prioritise UK foods and reduce food miles. Measures could include incentives for local sourcing, clearer product labeling, and investments in sustainable supply chains, supporting local farmers and reducing environmental impact.
We want the Government to act because we think prioritising British foods and reducing food miles will support local farmers, reduce carbon emissions, and promote sustainable agriculture. By incentivising supermarkets to source locally, we think we can lower environmental impact, strengthen the UK economy, and give consumers the power to make more eco-friendly choices. We believe this is a critical step toward creating a more sustainable food system, improving food security, and helping the UK move towards a greener future.
