Call for Fair Graduate Route Visa Decisions End Inconsistent Home Office Policy

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Govt. Must ensure consistent Graduate visa decisions by formally recognising lawful variation from FLR under Section 3C. Discretion should apply where delays are beyond students’ control, especially late award reporting. Clear guidance is needed for caseworkers & universities must report awards.
Govt.& the Home Office should change their policy to uphold fairness, legal consistency & the UK’s reputation. The Home Office is failing to apply its own rules consistently, while universities delay reporting awards issues beyond students’ control. This results in injustice, uncertainty, and loss of future opportunities for graduates. It undermines confidence in the UK’s immigration system and deters future international students. It affects UK Int'l market not suitable for naitonal interest.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

The purpose of section 3C leave is to prevent a person who makes an in-time application to extend their leave from becoming an overstayer while they are awaiting a decision on that application and while any appeal or administrative review they are entitled to is pending.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
