Legalise Everyday Carry of Folding Pocket Knives with Common Locking Mechanisms

What the petition asks
I urge the UK government to include common pocket knife locking mechanisms—such as frame locks, liner locks, back locks, and button locks—under the everyday carry (EDC) exemptions. This change would legalise a wide range of commonly used pocket knives intended for routine, practical tasks.
I believe the addition of a locking mechanism to pocket knives does not increase the risk to public safety; however, it significantly improves user safety by preventing the blade from accidentally folding onto the user's fingers—a frequent cause of injury during normal use.
I believe permitting such mechanisms would substantially reduce injuries caused by folding pocket knives, thereby alleviating unnecessary pressure on NHS A&E departments.
