Petition · HM Treasury

Tax all assets and profits over £1bn by 100% and abolish non-doms

Open for signatures 96 signatures

What the petition asks

Increase taxes on individual wealth over £1bn to 100% meaning that no-one can be a billionaire. Corporations or businesses profits over £1bn annually, again, taxed at 100% to be spent on schools and hospitals, roads, support for the disabled, housing the homeless, etc. Abolish "non-dom" status.
It's impossible to earn £1bn. We believe the only way people make that money is through exploitation. There is a cost of living emergency in the UK, and hoarding money is a huge problem. We think chancellor protecting non-dom tax avoidance over welfare for disabled people is abhorrent and demonstrates a clear security risk to actual constituents when such power can be wielded by any one person or business. Pathological hoarding of wealth should be a crime, taxing it appropriately is a step in the right direction.
