Petition

Reconvene the cross house cross party Parliamentary Forum on Trans People

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Please reconvene the cross house cross party parliamentary forum on trans people and establish a positive way forward in respect of the implications of the Supreme Court ruling on biological sex and its implication across society.
Dr Jane Playdon and retired (2010) MP Lynne Jones set up the original Parliamentary Forum on Transsexualism in 1994 to establish equality in health care and work through legal reform for the protection of trans people in the UK.
The recent Supreme Court ruling on defining sex as biological sex will change that legal reform secured from 1994.
We now again call on Parliament to reconvene this forum to work through the implications of this ruling and develop a mutual way forward.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This is a matter for individual MPs.
