Petition

Install CCTV along York Riversides, Cycle paths and Children’s Play parks.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

CCTV cameras installed down both sides of the rivers running through York, and additional CCTV installed down old train lines which are now cycle paths and children’s play areas.
Predatory behaviour towards all people and attacks of all varieties have been on the up in the last decade in York, and Camera surveillance although it may not stop the problem it would provide substantial deterrence and evidence of crimes that do still happen.

Why it was rejected

It was about a matter for a local council or devolved government, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We have to reject petitions that call for action at a local level.

You could ask your MP to take action on your concerns about this issue, including by asking them to present a public (paper) petition about this.
