What the petition asks
The UK should not sign any agreement that commits the UK to the European Defence Fund (EDF) or Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO). Control of the UK’s military must not be transferred to Brussels in any form without a referendum.
The prospect of EU military unification has neither been properly debated in Parliament nor presented to the British public. The full implications of the European Defence Fund (EDF) and Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) are not widely understood in the UK. Before any agreement is signed, the UK government must ensure a transparent, open debate and put the matter to a referendum.
