What the petition asks
From September 2025, eligible working parents will be able to claim 30 hours of free childcare per week for their children from 9 months old.
In Wales eligible working parents are only able to claim 30 hours from 3 years old.
Wales need to be in line with England on childcare.

Working parents are having to cut paternity/maternity short to return to work due to poor SMP. When they do return childcare costs have risen considerably making it all most impossible for some to return to work. At the moment Wales only offers 30 hours childcare from 3 years old where England offer 30 hours from 9 months from September 2025.
