Petition
Call for Transitional Protection for Skilled Worker Visa Holders on 5Yr ILR Path
Rejected
17 signatures
What the petition asks
Current Skilled Worker Visa Holders on 5-Year ILR Path who started their journey to settlement under old rules aren't disadvantaged by the new rules and continue on their path to settlement under the conditions that were in place when they began their 5-year qualifying period
People came here with the United Kingdom Government's promise of settlement status after 5 years of working and contributing to the UK economy. If they change the rules for existing Skilled Worker visa holders, it would be a betrayal and people's lives would be affected by this decision. People have already built their lives in the UK, and moving the goalposts now will plunge many into deeper debt, uncertainty, and trauma.
