Petition

Respect the 5-Year Settlement Agreement for Existing Skilled Workers

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We urge the government to honour existing settlement pathways and not apply the proposed ILR rule retrospectively to migrants who came under 5-year expectations.
This policy may change affects over 1.5 million skilled migrants. Many came to the understanding that they'd be eligible for ILR in five years. Sudden changes create uncertainty, disrupt careers, and cause emotional and financial harm. We are not against the 10-year ILR route — if it applies to future migrants.
