What the petition asks
The government needs, from time to time, to check if it has the support of the house and the wider population. This petition is simply to force a parliamentary debate and vote on this matter.
To ensure that the government knows whether or not it has the support of the people, which will be indicated by the number of signatures attached to this petition, and to force all members of Parliament to overtly state whether or not they have confidence in the policies of the day, or abstain.
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
We can't accept petitions about appointments, which includes calling for a vote of no confidence in the Government.
If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or the House of Commons, you could start a petition about that.
