What the petition asks
Mandate rehoming of lab & breeding unit animals as default by end of 2025. We want partnering with accredited rehoming orgs & a rehoming database, funded by licence fees & grants. We want to end unnecessary euthanasia & independent outcome monitoring for an ethical future.
Demand the Government mandates rehoming as default for lab & breeding unit animals by 2025. Partner with UK rehoming orgs, and create a transparent rehoming database. Fund via licence fees/grants to boost rehoming rates. We want amendments to ASPA to end unnecessary euthanasia. We call for independent monitoring and reporting of rehoming outcomes to ensure success. We think this could establish the UK as a global leader in ethical lab animal rehoming and address public demand for compassionate welfare standards.
