Cap inflation to 3%
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Currently, inflation has increased to 3.6% while benefits and wages have very small margins of change. Make the government take responsibility- cap inflation to 3% and improve the countries quality of life.
The “cost of living crisis” is causing more poverty, negatively affecting peoples quality of life and effecting their mental health. Many people struggle with every day living costs (Food, energy bills etc.), and this appears to only be getting worse.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
It's not possible for the Government to cap inflation is a measure of the cost of goods and services. The Government does set the Bank of England a target of 2% for inflation.
