Hold a national referendum on changing the minimum voting age from 18 to 16.

What the petition asks
Such significant constitutional change should have the full backing of the country, not just Parliament. Pass legislation that requires this and any future government to require a national referendum for any changes to our voting system.
Whilst a Government may have a large parliamentary majority they can achieve this with a low share of the national vote. Significant constitutional change should have a level of support that is deeper than a parliamentary majority. The best way to achieve this is with a national referendum.
