Review UK laws and procedures relating to votes of no confidence

Closed 67 signatures

What the petition asks

We call on Parliament to initiate a cross-party review of the laws and procedures for votes of no confidence, ensuring they are clear, modern, and fit for purpose following the repeal of the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act in 2022.
Since the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act ended in 2022, we believe votes of no confidence now follow old, unclear rules. Without clear laws, things can get confusing, decisions may be inconsistent, and people might lose trust. We want Parliament to carry out a fair, cross-party review to make sure the rules are clear, modern, and help keep our democracy strong and trusted by everyone.
