Have a one-hour blackout during one day per week to tackle light pollution

What the petition asks
We urge the Government to introduce a mandatory one-hour blackout of all streetlights, bright lights and electrical billboards so people can experience what zero light pollution is like and to experience what are ancestors experienced many years ago.
We want all the light to be turned off for one hour during one day per week, including streetlights, bright lights outside hotels and buildings etc, electrical billboards that emit light. We want them all turned off for an hour to save electricity and to tackle light pollution for everyone to experience the natural night sky, in a way that many of our ancestors would have seen years ago.
