Enact the Castle Doctrine, An ENGLISHMAN'S HOME IS HIS CASTLE!

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

Enact the Castle Doctrine, AN ENGLISHMAN'S HOME IS HIS CASTLE. Law-abiding citizens must have the full legal right to use reasonable force - including lethal force if necessary - to protect their home, family and property from illegal intruders without fear of prosecution.
Currently the British Legal Citizens are unable to rightfully and lawfully defend their homes, loved ones nor selves in their own rightfully owned homes without risk of prosecution. This causes the distinct problem where criminals are put in a favourable position to commit crimes whereas Victims are held responsible for their fear of loss of life.

Without this Doctrine the British Lawful Public are held under arrest for defending themselves rightfully whilst intruders and criminals do not.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

You can use reasonable force against intruders: https://www.gov.uk/reasonable-force-against-intruders

Further information from the Crown Prosecution Service, including on the use of lethal force is given in Householders and the use of force against intruders: https://www.cps.gov.uk/sites/default/files/documents/publications/Householders-2018.pdf
