What the petition asks

I want the government to give Reading in Berkshire City Status. So Reading will become a city in the UK.

Reading is the largest town in the UK with a population of over 350k. It is diverse and has almost everything. Places like Milton Keynes which is not as big, lower population have city status but not Reading? It's about time Reading gets the city status it has deserved for years.

Why it was rejected

It was about a matter for a local council or devolved government, not the UK Government or Parliament.
