Petition
Change politicians pay to that of average salary of their constituency
Rejected
18 signatures
What the petition asks
Provide more incentive for politicians to actually improve their constituency. Politicians haven't justified their average pay of £93,000. Why are they earning double (almost triple) the salary of their constituency.
Change their salary to that of the average salary of their constituency.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
