Petition

I want the LatinAmerican community in the UK to be recognised as an ethnic group

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

I respectfully request that the Latin American community be formally recognised as an ethnic group in the UK. Over 450,000 Latin Americans live and contribute here, yet must still select “other” on official forms, leaving their identity unrecognised and invisible.
I respectfully request that the Government recognise the Latin American community as an ethnic group in the UK. The movement “We are not ‘other’, we are Latinos”, which began in Elephant and Castle, highlights the lack of recognition on official forms, where Latin Americans must select “other”. This invisibility limits access to services and fair representation. Recognition would reflect decades of contribution and promote equality, visibility and inclusion.
