The UK’s National flag month is to further the expression of pride in all things British. In August everyone should be encouraged to celebrate and fly flags traditional to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, such as the Union Flag, the flags of St George or St Andrew, the Welsh Flag or the Ulster Flag. Councils will also allow residents and volunteers to celebrate all things British in style by flying these traditional UK flags on municipal property such as lamp posts.
Why it was rejected

The UK Government and Parliament are not responsible for creating national days or months.
