What the petition asks
Agencies and landlords are charging ridiculous rates for a studio flats/self contained some shared accommodation not including bills. A rental cap will allow people to live in affordable homes in and around London. Agents eligibility checks are £50,000 pa in income for a property that is £1000 pcm.
Put a rental cap on properties so that landlords /agents cannot charge ridiculous amounts of money for small spaces self-contained spaces which are clearly not affordable. This leads to people being homeless or living in hostels and not being able to find somewhere to live due to the checks and high rental prices for people who do normal jobs such as cleaners, retail, security, hospitality etc who are on a basic minimal wage.
