Petition

Ban high-velocity catapults and licence others with police powers to confiscate

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Ban high-velocity catapults by classing them as offensive weapons. Licence or age restrict all other catapults. Give police powers to stop and confiscate catapults from anyone under 18 without good reason. These steps are essential to tackle rising antisocial and violent use.
Catapults are increasingly used to injure or kill wildlife, harm pets, and damage property. These attacks are rising, often carried out by young people. Police say current laws aren't enough. We must treat catapults the same way we treat knives—restrict access, regulate use, and give police power to act. Confiscation powers and age-related restrictions will help prevent cruelty and protect communities. The longer we wait, the more lives—animal and possibly human—will be lost.
