What the petition asks
There is a building proposal Planning ref: WD/2025/6509/SO of 300 houses to be put in place instead of a beautiful field which is used regularly for dog walkers with a stunning view, with lots of wild life in the area.
Our community would appreciate the proposal being refused to save our village.
Our community would appreciate the proposal being refused to save our village.
This development must not go ahead. It would devastate Hellingly, known for its beauty, wildlife, and community spaces. The village can't handle more traffic, and current data ignores the wildlife future and current residents from nearby developments. Local services—schools, hospitals, dentists—are already overwhelmed. The Cuckmere River floods more due to overbuilding. The view and character of the area will be ruined by this intrusive, inappropriate development. With views of the downs ruined
