DVLA to implement mandatory eye tests for all drivers & sight reporting

What the petition asks
DVLA to implement mandatory eye tests for drivers for all ages. We believe that any vision impairment such as short or long sightedness should be something which drivers are mandated to report, just like other health conditions which may affect their vision.
There have been some suggestions that the government might propose that those who are 70 and above should have their eyes tested regularly, but we think that’s prejudice and failing the motorist.
If a health issue must be reported to the DVLA surely all ages should have their eyes examined not those who are 70 and over.
