Create a protocol & mandate staff training for handling miscarriage tissue

What the petition asks
There is currently no national protocol for how miscarriage tissue is handled or tested. We are concerned about some families’ babies’ samples being lost, mixed up or not tested, which could cause distress and prevent answers for parents after pregnancy loss.
We ask the Government to create a single, mandatory protocol for the collection, labelling, transfer, and testing of miscarriage tissue. This should include a chain-of-custody tracking system, written confirmation for families, and mandated staff training to ensure every baby’s remains are treated with care and accountability.
