Review and reform administration of Universal Credit & compensation

Closed 235 signatures

What the petition asks

Universal Credit was established to help provide financial stability & support to those in need.
However, we believe mounting evidence & widespread testimonies are revealing that injustice, financial distress, & systemic mismanagement have become pervasive experiences for claimants nationwide.
We want an immediate government and parliamentary investigation and consideration of reforms to Universal Credit’s administration, with special attention to any withheld payments, administrative failures, excessive and intrusive scrutiny, careless staff errors, and the impact on vulnerable claimants.
This should include restoration and prompt payment of any withheld benefits to which there are legitimate claims, including compensation.
We believe the government and Parliament must respond to this national crisis, restore public trust, and protect the rights and wellbeing of all citizens.
