What the petition asks
With the ever increasing knife attacks within the country it is time the British public were allowed to carry pepper spray. It has been proven many times in America that pepper spray is not only affective against physical assault but also knife/sword attacks and against someone armed with a gun.
To remove pepper spray from the category of a firearm and change the law to allow the general population to legally carry it for defensive purposes, however with the caviar that if it is used in a non defensive mode, commission of a crime or against a police officer doing their duty then apply the punishments associated with a firearm.
