Petition

Introduce the right to bear arms for law abiding British citizens.

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

Give British people a fighting chance to protect themselves against violence and thuggery.
Unfortunately we do not feel safe on the streets and public transport of Britain.

We have a right to protect ourselves in common law using proportionate and reasonable force but it is impossible to protect yourself when you are up against zombie knives and machetes.

Help us protect ourselves and our families.

Introduce the right to bear arms for law abiding British citizens. Make background checks stringent and vetting requirements robust. Reintroduce confidence in the British public.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. People can already own certain types of firearms if they have a license. We are also not sure what kind of arms, or what circumstances you would like this to apply to.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
