Add Traffic Lights for Additives & Ultra-Processed Foods to FSA Labels
Closed
67 signatures
What the petition asks
Expand FSA food traffic lights to show: (1) presence of artificial additives such as sweeteners, preservatives, colours and flavours; (2) level of food processing using the NOVA 1–4 scale, with 4 = ultra-processed (red). This could give citizens clearer, quicker health information at a glance.
Consumers deserve clear, accessible information about the foods they buy. Expanding FSA traffic lights to include (1) artificial additives such as sweeteners, preservatives, colours and flavours, and (2) food processing level using the NOVA 1–4 scale, could make labels simpler and more transparent. This change could help tackle obesity and diet-related disease, build trust in food labelling, and empower citizens to make healthier, informed choices at a glance.
