Reinstate the NI Legacy Act protecting veterans from prosecution

What the petition asks
Give veterans the same protection from prosecution as given to suspected IRA terrorists by Tony Blair's amnesty.
We believe it can’t be right to prosecute veterans who were defending the country on government orders, affecting the willingness of serving people now to risk shooting in case they face future prosecution
We need equality of treatment for veterans, the same as given in the past to suspected members of the IRA who were responsible for bombings and shootings which killed innocent people. This would be justice for people willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, as many serving members of the armed forces are doing now. The Government must consider the implications of sending forces in to harm’s way when they could potentially face prosecution in the distant future.
