Protect Our Countryside and Our Farmland in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Lords Amendment 40 ensured Environmental Delivery Plans cannot justify harm to habitats, wildlife or productive farmland. Environmental groups backed it because it prevented damage being traded for financial payments.”
Removing Amendment 40 leaves our countryside exposed to avoidable harm. Productive farmland is already under pressure from large-scale industrial developments, and this change weakens vital safeguards. Restoring Amendment 40 would protect nature, food security and rural communities by ensuring environmental damage cannot be justified for financial gain.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
