Petition

Local Decision-Making for Local Planning, Local Involvement on National Projects

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Promote and support local democracy by local council decision-making on all local planning development. On nationwide planning developments local council planning departments must be involved and not excluded or ignored. Final decision on Nationwide projects must be at Central Government level.
2200 housing units are proposed to be built in Bromley and Hayes on green built land in the centre of the borough. Central government are intending to remove the local council planning department from the decision making process by use of existing and proposed new laws. Local democracy requires our councillors to be accountable to the electorate for both the built environment and our natural environment. The Bromley and Hayes green belt project will set a precedent for all London Boroughs.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as changing part of a particular law that is currently in force.
