Petition
Allow legal asylum seekers to apply for ILR after 5 years in the UK
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
We ask the Government to create a 5-year ILR route for legal asylum seekers who entered the UK lawfully and have been living here legally while their asylum claims are pending.
Many legal asylum seekers have lived in the UK for years, contributing to communities and raising families while waiting for decisions. A 5-year settlement route would give fairness, stability, and dignity, reduce Home Office delays, and help integration into British society.
Why it was rejected
