What the petition asks
We would like members of both, The House of Commons (MPs) and The House of Lords (Peers) to take their share of the burden to reduce the UK National Debt and freeze their future expenses until 2031.
Both the House of Commons (MPs) and House of Lords (Peers) should Lead by Example to those who pay both tax and national insurance.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
