Petition
Stop government from introducing planned changes to trial by jury legislation.

What the petition asks
The Labour Party plan to change UK citizens rights to a trial by jury. We understand that judges who are paid by the state and therefore not independent will in future replace juries. However, they claim that this change will not affect serious offences. No change should be made to this right.
There can be no justification for the introduction or more State Control at this time. At a minimum government should have a parliamentary vote as to whether or not these rights should be altered. Alternatively Citizens should have a say through a referendum.
