What the petition asks
Turn Swadlincote fish ponds into a monitored fishery
Turning Swadlincote ponds into a managed fishery would boost local wildlife through habitat care, improve men’s mental health by offering a calm outdoor space, and reduce litter with regular maintenance. With rod licences and affordable day tickets, the site could fund its upkeep while creating a cleaner, safer community resource that supports families, young anglers, and local wellbeing, strengthening pride in our town. Responsible angling will protect these waters for future generations.
Why it was rejected
