What the petition asks
Make the state pension taxable exempt exempt for every pensioner not just those on low incomes .
Currently under the latest budget announcement, those whose only income is the state pension will not pay tax on the state pension. However, those who have worked and saved for an occupational pension (often without choice thanks to government legislation) will pay tax on both their occupational AND state pension - which is grossly unfair to those who have worked and saved
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
