What the petition asks

Central Bedfordshire Council are suspending 50% of domestic refuse collections, affected residents should receive a rebate on their council tax for services that are not being provided.

As council tax payers we pay for household waste services.
In all other circumstances it would be usual for a refund for services not supplied.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Rebates are a matter for local government and this petition anyway deals with action at a local level - and our Standards do not allow petitions which are about action at a local level, especially on matters outwith the central government's remit
