Petition

Challenge the Supreme Court and acknowledge that sex and gender are different.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Acknowledge in Law that the definition of sex is 'biological' female,
'biological' male or intersex, as assigned at birth. And that gender is a social construct that is an identity. Woman, girl, man, boy are verbs used to describe someones identity, not biology.
In April 2025 the Supreme Court have ruled that the definition of women and girl should be based on the biological sex of a person depending on was written on their birth certificate. They state that sex can not be changed, this statement is correct. However, biological sex makes a person female or male (or intersex) , it does not make them a girl, boy, woman or man.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The UK Government cannot change court judgements but could introduce new legislation about this. You could start a new petition asking for that, if that is what you would like.
