Petition

Allow school students to express themselves through appearance

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Remove all school rules about physical appearance (except for uniform)
dyed hair, piercings, makeup, nails, rolled skirt etc.
Schools should not limit their students expression of themselves. To say it is distracting is both unfair and incorrect. It will not impact their learning and helps them discover their identity. Almost all students would much rather be able to express themselves through physical appearance, and limiting that leads students to be monotonous and not unique, forcing them to live without expressing who they truly are.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

These things are a matter for individual school governorship which the Government has made clear recently in statements about its national guidance on school uniforms
