Petition
Fund egg freezing for severe endometriosis patients that need surgery
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Require NHS England to provide funded fertility preservation (egg freezing), for patients with severe endometriosis undergoing fertility-threatening surgery, including bowel shaving or bowel resection, to ensure equitable access based on medical risk rather than diagnosis.
Patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy are routinely offered NHS-funded egg freezing due to predictable fertility loss. Women with severe endometriosis undergoing pelvic surgery, including bowel resection, face similar, clinically significant fertility risk but are not routinely offered preservation. This creates inequitable access to fertility services based on diagnosis rather than comparable medical impact and risk.
