Reduce income tax rate for parents

Open for signatures 32 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the government to change tack in tackling child poverty and our falling fertility rate by reducing the income tax rate of parents - for example by 0.5/1% for each parent for each child until they reach 18.
To help tackle child poverty and our falling fertility rate we should also be rewarding working families and not just providing for those on benefits. We should be rewarding parents who work and not people who claim benefits. We think the current system incentivises people not to work. This could incentivise work and working families could be better off. It may also incentivise those not working back into work. We should consider implementing this policy instead of lifting the 2 child benefit cap
