Petition

Reinstate the personal allowance between incomes of £100,000 and £125,140

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

For every £2 earned above £100,000, the personal allowance is reduced by £1 until it is completely removed at £125,140.

This leads to an unfair marginal tax rate of 62% between £100,000 and £125,140.

This is unfair, and it has to be scrapped now.
People are discouraged from taking on extra hours right around the £100,000 salary mark because they won't get to keep 62% of their work.

The government should scrap this stealth tax to encourage people to work more hours and be more productive. No one deserves a marginal tax rate of 62p per £1.
