What the petition asks
Create and maintain ideas.parliament.uk, an Ideas Commons where people can submit and support ideas that create solutions for life in the UK and everywhere our decisions reach.
As with petitions, the strongest ideas should receive a formal Government response and be considered for support.

What if the nation’s huge, untapped wealth of imagination and practical ideas had a place where they could be heard, supported and acted on?
The present petitions system focuses on a response from government rather than generating solutions that citizens and communities can act on too.
An Ideas Commons would unlock that potential by helping not just government, but also citizens, communities, charities, businesses and public bodies to turn good ideas into real solutions and lasting change.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
It is unclear how this would differ from the existing e-petition system.
