Petition

Take urgent and strong action with the US and allies against the Iranian regime.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We urge the UK Government to take urgent and decisive action, together with the United States and other democratic allies, against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The UK must stand firmly against this regime and in solidarity with the Iranian people’s right to freedom, safety, and dignity.
The Iranian regime has carried out extreme repression against its own people, including the killing of large numbers of protesters, activist networks have reported that thousands of civilians were killed during recent crackdowns, including reports of very high numbers of deaths over just a few days. These acts amount to grave violations of human rights and crimes against the Iranian people. The regime’s violence threatens not only Iranians, but also regional and international stability.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about the situation in Iran, but we're not sure exactly what "urgent and strong action" you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

Or you may wish to sign this petition: "Severe UK-Iran ties, withdraw recognition of Iran’s regime & expel all diplomats" Sever UK-Iran ties, withdraw recognition of Iran’s regime & expel all diplomats
